Pepped and Prepped for a Paris Party? Hooray for Bastille Day!

“Wanna” dance? Now’s your chance.

Put on your dancing shoes and head to Place de la Bastille the night of July 13th for the “Bal Européen” where bands from all over the world will be helping you ‘kick it up’ European style. Starts at 8 p.m. Ends at midnight…but want to bet it lasts long after? For more information, visit www.paris.fr

Prefer the beach? This is a real treat.

After five editions of “Sous la Plage,” there’s a new twist from the usual “Bals des Pompiers” taking to dance at the Parc André Citroën in the 15th. It all happens on July 13th from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Use Métro Javel or Balard and look for Port de Javel Bas. For more information, visit www.paris.fr

Like the night? Light a fire.

The Pompiers de Paris are the kings of the night as they organize the traditional balls on both July 13th and 14th at 13 fire stations in Paris and 27 others just outside the city limits. Beginning at 9 p.m., expect to stay till the wee hours of the morning (4 a.m.) with these young and handsome “soldiers of fire” who wait all year to kiss the girls on this special occasion…so pucker up, ladies… For more information, download the list of balls at: www.pompiersparis.fr

Fireworks-a-holic? Plan a picnic.

Pack your picnic and start out early and get your spot on the Champs de Mars for the annual fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. After the sun goes down about 10:45 p.m., the fanfare begins from the pont d’Iena to honor Québec’s 400 years with a special hommage to Maria Callas and Pavarotti. Every year, the show gets even more spectacular! For more information, visit www.parisinfo.com

Love a parade? Start off your day.

The French Army makes its spectacular show down the most beautiful avenue in the world (the Champs-Elysées) on July 14th starting at 8:30 a.m. for a full display before the President of the Republic at Place de la Concorde with soldiers on foot, parachutists, and aeronautics gymnastics all morning long.
