Le Charles V is a gorgeous sumptuously well appointed Marais studio located on the quiet rue Charles V, just steps from the charming Village Saint-Paul’s art galleries and antique dealers. For location, this can’t be beat — only two blocks away lie the Seine and the famed Ile Saint-Louis. A few steps away find the Place de la Bastille and the forever elegant Place des Vosges. Hopping the metro from Le Charles V couldn’t be easier. A less than five-minute walk brings you to the entrance of the Saint-Paul Métro stop on the number 1 line. Notice that numerous buses serving the area can be caught here as well. Turning in the opposite direction as you leave the apartment lands you less than two minutes later squarely in front of the number 7 metro line stop, Sully-Morland. Walk just a tad further to Bastille where the numbers 1, 5 and 8 Métro lines converge, allowing you to get anywhere your heart and/or itinerary desires.
Food lovers rejoice as you’re only steps away to a treasure trove of tastes in the heart of Le Marais…from savory to sweet. Start at the boulangerie, then move on to the fromagerie. Do as the Parisians do: dine in on gourmet take-out — perfect rotisserie chicken with potatoes flavored by those delicious drippings alongside. Don't forget to finish up at the patisserie. Want to go out? Discover the bounty of Marais’ bistros and brasseries just moments from your front door. With so many choices it’s possible to eat well while never leaving the neighborhood for your entire stay. One can’t come to Paris and not shop. As luck would have it, you can uncover quite a few of Paris’ best kept shopping secrets in the chic boutiques lining the streets of Le Marais.
Protected by two digicode controlled doors at street level, the apartment is located on the 5th (European) floor of the building. The elevator makes for easy coming and going. Three double floor to ceiling east facing windows fill the apartment with beautiful light during the day. In the evening as you gaze out over the surrounding tiled rooftops, experience a meditative quiet as you take in this lovely view.
Newly renovated (2018) and tastefully decorated by well regarded interior designer, Martine di Mattéo, the studio has been fashioned to accommodate, if needed, up to four people. A curtain, pulled closed when appropriate, provides privacy, separating the European sized queen bed from the custom pullout couch equipped with a full sized mattress. Designed for ease, closing up the couch with all its bedding can be done in a flash.
In additional to the couch, two large comfortable armchairs provide added seating in the living room area. All encompass an inviting space to read, watch TV or just relax with a glass of French wine that somehow is even more delicious when in Paris. The generously sized dining table seats four people, perfect for your freshly home brewed morning coffee and still warm croissant.
The modern kitchen is equipped with every amenity you require: a cook top, refrigerator, and microwave/convection oven large enough to roast a whole chicken. Making for a real feel-at-home convenience, Le Charles V has its own washer/dryer combo unit and of course the cabinets are stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware and cookware just like at home.
The bathroom (or as you’re now in France, la salle de bain), expertly laid out, is sleek and fresh. With a gleamingly tiled shower, contemporary vanity/sink, and commode, this wash-up has added essentials like a makeup mirror and blow dryer. Of course it’s always stocked with plush fresh towels prior to your arrival.
Designed for the “plugged in” traveler, the apartment has free WiFi Internet, cable TV with over 100 channels, including Sky TV, CNN and free international phone calling to over 90 countries.

We loved the location and how updated and well-appointed the apartment was. Every time we said to each other: "I wonder where...." we then found it - whether that was an additional outlet, the french press coffee, champagne flutes, blankets and more. The St. Paul's village area was new to us, and we just loved being in that area of the Marais - so close to local fruit/vegetable stands, a favorite chocolatier ( Benoit), a favorite boulangerie (Le Moulin de Rosa at 32 Rue de Turenne), the quaint and always engaging Place des Vosges, and nearby schools with the sounds of kids playing in the school yard. We were planning out return on the flight home.

I've stayed at this apartment before it was professionally managed and found the stay to be even better than the last time. It's great to have a concierge there to meet us with the keys and explain everything. The amenities are great: free/fast Wi-Fi, washer/dryer and refrigerator are so nice to have! The apartment is great and an excellent value when you compare it against a hotel stay. it's roomy, homey, comfortable and charming!

We had a fabulous 6 nights in the Charles V apartment - I wish we could have alot more! The apartment was beautifully presented and had everything we needed for our stay. Being met by your host - Barbara - was great and having a number to call if required was very helpful. The location is wonderful, our local shops - fomagerie, boulangerie etc were right at our doorstep. Would definately stay again - sooner rather than later and longer rather than shorter!!

I was extremely happy with Le Charles V apartment! I had never rented an apartment for vacation before so was a little nervous but the check-in/check-out process went smoothly and the studio was thyree times bigger than a hotel room in Paris. The apartment was very clean and well-stocked and the location cannot be beat. You are on the top floor with lots of windows and lots of light (very quiet too) and a handy elevator. The free phone calls and free wireless are a big plus. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone (and in fact, already have!) and will definitely be staying there during my next trip to Paris.

The apartment really did exceed our expectations. It was a wonderful place, and we were equally happy with the service. Very easy check in and hassle free check out. Great communication and clarity with all procedures. Our stay was fabulous! This flat is ideally located in the beautiful Marais, conveniently located close to everything one could want in a Parisian adventure. The interior of the apartment was lovely with huge sunny windows, beautiful beams, a great shower, a tidy well-stocked kitchen, and a big comfortable bed.

Exactly as pictured! Perfect for a week's stay -- loved it-- nothing not to like. Best location.
As they say...location, location, location! This quiet Marais apartment is perfectly located for shopping (the twice-weekly Bastille Farmers Market is great fun), restaurants, bus routes, several Métro stations and easy strolls to many of Paris's major sites. The apartment is nicely decorated and luminous in the sunshine. I especially enjoyed being on the 6th floor with wonderful views over the Paris rooftops. Everything worked well including the appliances, internet, plenty of hot water, towels and linens - plus the comfort of knowing that someone at Parler Paris was just a phone call away if anything went sideways. The weekly housekeeper services for longer stays was the frosting on the cake!

We loved our stay at the Charles V. It was very cozy with great heaters and lots of light that was welcome on some chilly, cloudy Paris days. It is in a great location and wonderful neighborhood with great restaurants all around. The Metro access was easy. It was well-equiped and the personal assistance was helpful and comforting.

When we arrived at the Charles V apartment, it looked as lovely as the pictures. Being situated in a prime location, it was beautifully light-filled and had everything we needed. We also felt that we got value for money, as the furnishings were reminiscent of a plush hotel but without the massive cost. Lastly, we really appreciated their compassion when our flight was canceled and they allowed us to leave later in the day than we originally intended to. Thank you
