It was hot, sunny and relaxed. Only one newcomer joined us -- Patricia Young from Australia who is here for five weeks staying in Le Provençal. She broke her wrist a few days earlier, but it doesn't seem to stop her from doing much and claimed the emergency care she received as excellent.
New York pianist/singer Larry King was promoting his upcoming gig at Le China on Monday, July 26th from 7:30PM to Midnight - (50, rue de Charenton - near Place de la Bastille in the 12th - Métro: Ledru Rollin (8) or Bastille (1,5) - www.lechina.eu) See more about Larry at http://www.LarryKingMusicNY.com
Dale Novick Gaber, a long time regular at Après Midi, couldn't wait to hold Kat Marciano's 5-month-old baby, Jessica, who was the spitting image of her mother and very smiley. Katy is looking for work in sales and management now that Jessica has arrived.
Patricia Laplante Collins did not have pup Eve in tow, but is still hosting her wonderful Sunday evening networking meetings at Paris Soirées. There was much discussion that Patricia's events are way underpriced...and we all offered suggestions on how she could increase her prices in a way that would be acceptable to everyone.
Eva Marsh-Ferziger, just returned from a vacation in the Dolomites and was telling all about its amazing beauty! We'll see her again in the fall.
Jeanne Velu, with BH Relocation, said things were calm at the moment. We hadn't seen her in a while, so it was great to reconnect a bit.
Jack Lampert's in town, just as he is this time of year and is planning on being at our Bastille Day Picnic Wednesday...at least for a while...with visiting friends, of course.
Mary Ellen Gallagher hadn't attended for a while -- she'd been so busy searching out apartments and attending the Paris Writers Workshop, so it was great to see her smiling face.
Mary Louise Sillman had her jewelry all set up for sale on the center table -- an opportunity for all of us before she sells it all off. Anyone interested in purchasing beads and display items...enough with which to start a business!
Marilee McClintock, Peace Corps Director and traveler extraordinaire was very happy to have her apartment on rue Taillandiers sold and can rest easy now in her permanent spot in the 18th.
