What’s up for 2013 in Paris? Thanks to my ‘little birdie’ at the Hôtel de Ville, here’s the news for the new year! (most sites are in French, sorry!):

“La Canopée” of the Forum des Halles was to be completed in December. Visit Forum des Halles for more information.

The “Halle Pajol,” the largest youth hostel in France, will be opened in May 2013. Learn more by visiting Hall Pajol.

This coming Summer, Parisians will have the advantage of 2.3 kilometers of riverfront on the left bank of the Seine. Here’s more information both both banks!

The second part of the Martin Luther King Park and new housing will be completed in the district of Clichy Batignolles. Check it out!

The conversion of a huge warehouse “Macdonald” will be completed in the 19th arrondissement. Find out more.

In timing with the completion of the Jean Bouin Stadium, comes first-class sports equipment and a gorgeous new structure in the 16th! See Jean Bouin Stadium.

The Molitor swimming pool will be completely renovated. Plan your summer! Click here.

The new layout of the Place de la République will be ready in time for Fête de la Musique. This is my ‘hood’ and I can’t wait!

Autolib’ will continue to increase to 800 stations. Have you tried one yet? Visit Autolib Paris to learn how.

New places to host young, innovative firms will be opened, similar to the building Boucicaut that houses 40 young companies. Want to open a French company? Here’s where you can.

The Hôtel de Lauzun will host the promotion of researchers at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Paris. Are you a researcher? Here’s how to learn more.

As every year for over twenty years, the Supreme Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants, the Supreme Council of Notaries, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Francilien and the Chamber of Notaries of Paris will present the current tax and budget acts of 2012 and the Finance Act of 2013 on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 5 p.m. The theme this year is: Faced with fiscal reforms — what strategies? For more information, visit Notaries of Paris .

And all this means that Paris is not sitting still! Will you? When will you take the plunge to be a part of it all?

A bientôt,
