Located just around the corner from the Musée d'Orsay which houses the world's greatest collection of impressionist masterpieces, La Maison d'Orsay is a lovely blend of modern conveniences and efficiency with old-world French charm and elegance.

The apartment was completely renovated in 2010 and no corner was left untouched. The neutral tones of the color scheme highlight the beautiful antiques and give a sense of calm and serenity.

The living room is comprised of two comfortable armchairs opposite a leather sofabed, which serves as a bed for an additional guest. The flat-screen TV and DVD player are hidden behind a sliding door in this room and there is free satellite access to watch over 100 channels.

The large and well-equipped kitchen has everything you would want, including a built-in combination oven/microwave, a dishwasher, two-burner ceramic stove, fridge and Nespresso coffee maker, not to mention a complete supply of cookware, dishes, cutlery and glassware. There are two dining options -- either cozy seating at the marble bistro table with two chairs, or the stools that fit neatly under the extended kitchen counter.

The bedroom at the back of the apartment and facing a courtyard for ultimate quiet, has a comfortable queen-sized bed, elegant lighting, matching antique night tables and a French-style bureau. The mirrored closets in the alcove provide substantial hanging, shelf and storage space. For your musical pleasure, there is a Bose Sound Wave CD player/radio here in the bedroom.

The large and spacious bathroom is equipped with a sink and oversized vanity that offers ample counter and drawer space for all of your toiletries. There is a large tub/shower combination with hand-held and rainfall shower heads. The apartment's washer and dryer are both also located in this room.

The Area Around La Maison d'Orsay

Many locals call rue de Verneuil "Magic Street." If you stay at La Maison d'Orsay, you will find out why. This cozy, elegant and chic pied-à-terre on the Left Bank of the Seine is a food lover's paradise. Literally steps from your front door you will find an Androuet Cheese Shop, an Eric Kayser Patisserie, Le Cacaotier Artisan Choclatier and a charcuterie. A bounty of marvelous and intriguing restaurants line the street…from the intimate and casual to the très chic! Friendly bistros share the street with superlative and adventurous French gourmet cooking.

Antique lovers and 'culture vultures' will be delighted when staying at this apartment as rue de Verneuil is right in the heart of the antiquarian area. A plethora of charming and stunning little antique shops full of French treasures are nestled among many contemporary art galleries. This street is a treasure trove of culinary, cultural and artistic delights.

With Le Musée d'Orsay and the River Seine just steps away, you will find yourself in the heart of one of the city's most elegant districts in easy walking to many major sights, including the Assemblée Nationale, Hôtel des Invalides, Le Jardin des Tuileries and Le Musée du Louvre. The famous cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés are a short walk away -- Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore and Brasserie Lipp. There is endless shopping of the chicest kind in the entire district with the Bon Marché department store and Grande Epicerie within easy reach.

Public transportation abounds on all sides including the RER regional train network which takes you to points outside of Paris such as the airports Charles de Gaulle and Orly, Disneyland Paris and Versailles. There is no doubt you will find this part of Paris perfectly charming and convenient.

Guest Comments:

The apartment was wonderful. We were pleased with the décor and the amount of storage space. The amenities exceeded our expectations.

Veronica S., Farmington, CT

The stay was great –- we really loved the apartment and were especially pleased with the high quality fixtures including linens, towels, knives, dishes and pots and pans. I also really appreciated that some basics were already in the apartment like dish and laundry detergent, salt and pepper and some basic spices and olive oil.

Natalie B., Philadephia, PA
