Le
Saint-Tropez and La Brigitte (named
after Brigitte Bardot who made Saint-Tropez famous) are two apartments
on the same floor so that Le Saint-Tropez can
sleep two people and La Brigitte can accommodate
an additional two people just 'down the hall.'
With
a 9-month renovation having been completed spring 2010, both are
of the highest luxury with frivolously fun decor designed to transport
your imagination to the elegant and casual lifestyle of the Riviera's
chicest resort.
Le
Saint Tropez:
Le
Saint-Tropez is a studio apartment of approximately 23 square
meters on the 4th floor of a 17th-century Marais building (with
elevator) with exposed beams, high ceilings, a large skylight,
an unusual picture window over exposed beams and two French doors
leading to a 14 square-meter terrace overlooking rue de Saintonge!
The
apartment is air-conditioned for summer comfort, heated for the
winter and the terrace is planted and furnished for lazy days
and evenings in the outdoors where you will be will be sure to
dine, relax or check your emails.
The
decor has been designed with the help of Veronique
Husson, the "Mosaiiste" who created "Le
Provençal," Sheila Kern, American trompe l'oeil
artist and Martine di Matteo, our favorite Interior Architect.
The concept is the recreation of the feeling one gets vacationing
in Saint-Tropez, the town on the Riviera "known today
for its famous and wealthy guests, its history with the iconic
Brigitte Bardot, and its role in the liberation of Southern France
in World War II" (Wikipedia.org).
Whether
dining at the hand-made mosaic and iron table in front of the
unusual picture window or lounging on the terrace with bright
sun on your face (the apartment and terrace are southeast exposure
with sunlight all day long!), you will be able to imagine yourself
on the beach in Saint-Tropez among the rich and famous and with
all its outstanding luxury...but in reality, be in the heart of
the oldest district of the city of Paris! What could be more perfect?
It
sleeps two comfortably in a queen-sized bed, or separated to twin
beds for singles traveling together. There is plenty of storage
two unpack your bags, store all of your belongings and stow away
your suitcases so that you will feel totally at home.
The
apartment has a fully equipped open kitchen with refrigerator,
stove, microwave oven, toaster/oven, washer/dryer, espresso machine
and electric kettle, not to mention all the dinnerware, silverware,
cooking utensils and basic supplies you might possibly need. It
is missing nothing for your comfort and convenience.
The
bath is luxurious with tub/shower with a gumdrop-shaped gilded-framed
window overlooking the terrace, tiled vanity and glass vasque
sink, toilet, well-lit mirror, hair dryer and plenty of space
to keep all your toiletries...all constructed with hand-laid mosaic
tile.
Naturally,
every luxury is provided...free WiFi, free long distance telephone
to over 100 countries, satellite TV with English language channels
and hundreds of additional channels, DVD player, CD player and
radio.
The
apartment is the finest creation by Adrian Leeds and her team
of professionals -- an oasis in the heart of the city's best district
-- Le Marais.
La
Brigitte:
La
Brigitte is a "studette" apartment of approximately
8 square meters just a few steps down the corridor from Le Saint-Tropez.
It has two large windows overlooking two Marais courtyards plus
lots of sky. This is a perfect spot for a third and/or fourth
guest to accompany you while you stay in Le Saint-Tropez. It may
be rented only as an "add-on" to Le Saint-Tropez.
Like
Le Saint-Tropez, it has the same artistic decor, so nothing has
been spared. In this smaller space is a toilet, vanity and glass
vasque sink (but no shower or bath), plus storage for your belongings.
You will be completely comfortable in this tiny "aerie"
with your friends just down the hall at Le Saint-Tropez, plus
have total privacy.
Nothing
was spared in La Brigitte. Again, every luxury is provided...free
WiFi, free long distance telephone to over 100 countries, satellite
TV with English language channels and hundreds of additional channels,
DVD player, iPod stereo system. There is an antique "sécretaire"
where you can use your computer to book your next visit to Paris
or trip to the Riviera.
Le
Marais and Rue de Bretagne:
With
rue de Bretagne just next door, the apartment embraces the heart
of the Marais and central Paris with all the typical French commerce
you could ever wish for, including artisan boulangeries
(bakeries), a number of boucheries (butchers), poissonneries
(fish markets), epiceries (grocery stores), primeurs
(fruit/vegetable shops), fleuristes (flower shops), bar/tabacs
(tobacco shops), cafés and lots of excellent and
charming restaurant, not to mention Paris' oldest covered market,
Les Enfants Rouges, which dates back to 1615!
In the last few years, designer boutiques and art galleries have
sprung up like tulips. The district becomes more and more important
to Paris' finest artisans. It is only minutes from the Musée
Picasso, the Places des Vosges and a fifteen-minute
walk to Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville and Notre
Dame. Don't miss the Square du Temple, Le Carreau
du Temple and the City Hall of the 3rd Arrondissement before
reaching Place de la République. The
location is great and with a large number of transportation lines,
you're only minutes away from just about every part of the city.
Transportation:
Metro: République (#3, #5, #8, #9, #11), Filles du Calvaire
(#8), Saint-Sébastien-Froissart (#8), Oberkampf (#5, #9)
Bus line #s: 96,
20, 75, 65, 56, 29

The Saint-Tropez apartment needs only itself to recommend it. It is witout peer and it overlooks from its lovely terrace the rooftops of Paris. It was a month of pure joy!!

Well,
another superb sojourn in Paris for Gwen and me. Le Saint-Tropez
was perfect for us –- plenty of light, nice set-up and size
and, of course, the deck and views -- location taken for granted
by now; bathtub a major hit for one of us. We're looking forward
to next time.

The
rental process itself was very simple. The introduction to the
apartment was even simpler with Adrian willingly meeting us earlier
than was anticipated. Sorry to have awakened you on a Sunday morning,
Adrian This was my second stay amongst your rental properties.
(I can't say that I prefer one over the other, as both were fabulous.)
I did make it back to some of the "old neighborhood"
haunts and restaurants as well as a number dans le nouveau coin.
The ease of access to everything (shopping, restaurants, etc.)
was fabulous. I love the fact that I can pack so light with the
ease of doing laundry in the apartment. The outdoor terrace overlooking
the street is such an enviable touch to have with the great weather
that was afforded us. All
of the amenities in the apartment and the proximity of "La
Brigitte" to "Le Saint-Tropez" worked ideally for
my party of three. If I had the time I would be there more often.
I truly look forward to my next visit and would wholeheartedly
encourage people to avail themselves of your services (as well
as your well written and appreciated newsletter).

Lovely
apartment with La Brigitte for my husband, niece and I. Simply
loved the washer/dryer. What a marvel to have it all in one :-).
Terrace was beautiful and the weather made it perfect to sit and
enjoy! Bakery and grocery store right around the corner was so
convenient for breakfast and snacking. Learned after the first
day to switch on the light in the stairwell instead of trying
it in the dark! Your generous hospitality will never be forgotten.
Thank you for allowing late-night, unexpected guests like us.
You made our trip to Paris wonderful memories.

It
cheered me up so much to come back to the St Tropez each day.
It was flooded with light even on the greyest Paris day, and Brigitte
was always looking beatifically on from the beach. It's small
but perfectly formed so that I wondered why I ever thought I needed
more room to live comfortably. It's in a great area, with the
buzz of the Marais and lots of good transport options. Rue de
Bretagne, just a few paces away, is a foodie's paradise with cheese
shop, greengrocer, charcuterie, Italian and Greek delis, two sushi
restaurants, a Moroccan restaurant, and that's before you add
in the cafes and the market.

Paris
is beautiful in winter and no better place than the Marais. Great
host -- wonderful cozy apartment. Decorations are superb and delightfully
lit by the beams from the Egyptian light. Thanks to your hospitality,
we will be back from the 'down under' couple whose land goes from
draught to flood in an instant!

We
have had a great time in Paris and Le Marais, and since were were
here during the largest snowfall since 1987(!!), we were thrilled
to be in a such a nice, cozy place. Your space is well thought
out and lovely. Would have been fun to enjoy the terrace. Loved
Chez Omar and the neighborhood. Everyone is so kind to help us
through our terrible French to get what we (mostly!) wanted. Also,
love your newsletter and the helpful tips; it was so much fun
to meet you.

We
adored every minute of our stay in Le Saint-Tropez! We will certainly
be back! The room was perfect for us and all our needs catered
for. Such a wonderful location, too. Sunday we had lunch at the
market across the street before (sadly) returning to the U.K.

Your
accommodation was amazing. Almost didn't see Paris because we
never wanted to leave the room. It allowed us to live the dream
and fell like we were living in Paris. Cannot wait to come back
someday! Thanks again and hope all is well! Room is perfect size
for a couple and this has everything you could ask for! Bon Voyage,
Clark
and Lefi M.
Je
l'adore. Saint-Tropez is beyond category. Your passion and commitment
to an extraordinary space makes this my/our private retreat magical.
The moon from the bed and terrace is a gift from the universe.
Thank you for the vision, thoughtfulness and space. I will be
back.

I
have loved every minute in the Saint-Tropez. From the early morning
sun to the late evening drinks on the terrace, it has been perfect.
I'm thrilled to have been your second guest in this wonderful
place, and can't wait to see the pictures of the terrace when
the "oliviers" grow up and the geraniums at their peak.
Thank you for everything you have done to make this a magical
stay.
A
bientôt, Ann H., Atlanta, GA
What
a wonderful stay I had in the Brigitte -- it was the perfect place
to retreat at night and read and think about the wonderful day.
Many thanks.

Loved
the apartment! Most amazing stay in Paris! Loved the Saint-Tropez,
affectionately referred to ad "The Haus of Alice"...note
the height of the lower door lock! This provided lots of laughs.
Add in the magnificent beams, details and the amazing qualities
the neighborhood has to offer -- it is truly a fairytale story
come true. Have never stayed in the Marais before -- amazing shopping
for the fashionistas in us all. Check out "Merci"and
"Isabel Marant" -- très chic. Adrian was as magnificent
as the balcony...j'adore Parler Paris!! Merci.
