IMPORTANT NEWS: Since October of 2003, Parler Paris Après Midi has been an opportunity to meet with other Parler Paris readers, come for drinks, share information about what it takes to create a life here and to make friends. It's been fun and we've enjoyed every minute...but now we want to make Après Midi even more useful and fulfilling! Beginning March 8, 2011 a guest speaker of note will come to talk about a topic of interest and then open the floor for questions and discussion! There is no charge, except for what you drink or eat and La Pierre du Marais does request that at least one item is ordered (that's why we can do this at no cost!). Our goal is to provide a forum of discussion where we can all learn a lot about living in France as well as a way to make friends! And we hope you will find this more fun than ever! The speakers will be announced in advance, so be sure to read Parler Paris to learn who! |

Due to illness, Kathleen Spivak will be replaced by Kristin Shannon and Antonio Meza "Step inside your story: improv, creativity, and getting your story across..." Come share a special way to step into your stories and characters! Join a lively interactive session this afternoon and discover more about bringing your talent into the open. How do you get past writer's block, jump into the story, and unleash your creativity? We'll share some improv games that take you inside characters. We'll also offer insights on how to make better friends with your brain. We'll tell tales together, share humor, and new tools for creativity. Enjoy a "3D" approach to writing with Antonio Meza and Kristin Shannon from PSICommunications who coach speakers and writers to their full potential. It's playful, and a great way to connect! "How to design your own Body-Language Business Card" How do you signal trust? friendship? "Yes" or "No" clearly? What makes you understood in any culture? How do you quickly read and de-code the signals you get? What signals do you send? Kristin Shannon coached Prime Ministers, worked with the Obama campaign and studied with Dr. Paul Ekman who consults for hit TV show "Lie to Me" on how to read "micro expressions." She and Antonio Meza offer practical tips and lots of humor during their open Salons in Paris on cross cultural communications. People gather to explore advanced communications techniques, make friends and try out new possibilities. For more information visit PSICommunicaitons.com or contact [email protected] |

We ended up in one big circle around the room...
Tom Houlihan just made the move to Paris -- a computer technician looking to establish some clients for technical needs as well as translations from French to English. You can find him at www.paris-techie.com, [email protected] or 06.79.02.23.49. His mother, Julie Seabury, is along for the ride until April, to help him get settled and meanwhile is learning French.
Hélène Henrard is French, living in Fontainbleau 60 kms from Paris, but is looking to practice speaking English and meeting up with Anglophones.
Xavier Danet, a long-standing driver and tour guide in Paris with Xavier Prestige Tour offering all sorts of personal service for those who want guided tours in the City of Light. You can find Xavier at www.xavierprestigetour.com, 06.42.66.70.70 or [email protected]
Linda LeBeau came for the first time -- she's a Paris resident looking to purchase an apartment for herself and finding it very difficult, as the market is so tight!
Irish-born Executive Leadership Development guru for global companies, Adrian McGinn, hadn't been for a while, but says that he loves to connect with our wonderful network.
Long time attendee, Ronny Rubin, says, "once upon a time I came with a dream and 10 years later I'm still here -- always redefining my course and just staying connect helps a lot."
Old friend, Annalee Beverley, a resident of Montreal with an apartment in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, shows up every once in a while to say hello.
SuperCils Kiwi and "Lash Queen of Paris," Wendy Newman, once again brought along her pup, "Paris," the Pomeranian. If you're interested in having a great new look, contact Wendy at 06.01.45.39.76 or [email protected]
Shaun Maamo was back -- still here and wanting to stay longer plus find a way to live here more permanently.
JoBee Croskery, a resident of Los Angeles and retired Ballet Mistress, is a part time stills photographer (films), a new reader of Parler Paris and first time attendee of Après Midi. She was happy to get to know other readers and loves visiting the city.
Dolores Lilley always makes a point of coming when she's in Paris.
Valerie Grauer makes the gathering a regular occasion now -- she's a Nuskin distributor who is looking for partners who with to develop their own network -- contact her at +33 (0) 6.14.57.59.19 if you are interested.
Patricia Laplante Collins of Paris Soirées, after all these years is still hosting her Sunday evening dinner and talk -- a great place to network, meet new people and learn something new.
New Orleans native and life coach, Dale Gaber, is here for only a couple of months -- then we're sure she'll be back again as Paris is more her home than anywhere.
Geraldine Kaylor Rauch, a two-month-a-year resident of Paris and author of the Travel Oyster delighted us with some of her great storytelling. Her blog is a cornucopia of information on all the places to which she travels and lives.
Special Note: Beginning March 8, 2011, there will be a speaker of note at each Parler Paris Après Midi.
