Gary Lee Kraut is an American and French dual citizen specializing in travel, culture and touring in France. He moved to Paris from New Jersey as a young journalist and writer nearly 40 years ago. He is the author of five travel guides to France and Paris as well as numerous articles, essays, short stories, and op-ed pieces concerning travel, culture, cross-culture, and life abroad. Many of his articles can be read on France Revisited, the award-winning web magazine that he operates.
As a lecturer, Gary has spoken extensively in the United States on subjects as diverse as American War Memories in France, the history of the wines of Burgundy and Champagne, the Jewish history of Paris, biking in France, historic gardens in Paris, and more. Over the past two years he has been speaking and writing much about culinary, cultural and social interest of Parisian bistros. Paris Bistro Life will be the subject of his talk as he explores the history of Parisian bistros and bistro life in Paris today.
