Adrian Leeds, Real Estate Professional

Adrian Leeds was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and spent a year on a kibbutz in Israel before settling into family life and building her career—first in Knoxville, Tennessee, then in Los Angeles, California before moving to France. She came with more than 21 years of experience in marketing and public relations—first with Levi Strauss & Company, then with television station promotion, broadcast sales, media buying, and ultimately with her own firm marketing and public relations firm. In 1994, she moved to Paris with her family for a one-year “sabbatical”...and never left.

In her need to survive in the City of Light as a single mother, Adrian created a variety of businesses devoted to assisting other expatriates in their quest to fulfill their dream to live in France. She wrote and published the first online Paris restaurant guide in 1996, Adrian Leeds' Top 100 Cheap Insider Paris Restaurants (no longer available); created and ran Parler Parlor for 20 years, a French-English conversation group; and has filmed more than 50 episodes of HGTV’s House Hunters International since 2006! On top of it all, Adrian has hosted dozens of conferences and workshops, as well as been featured as a speaker at dozens of others. On the second Tuesday of every month, Adrian hosts a free “coffee gathering” in Paris at which there is always a speaker—a way for Adrian to give something back to the community she loves.

Adrian has a passion for writing and has been publishing three online publications a week since 2001!: Monday and Wednesday's Nouvellettres®, and French Property Insider, which all have a large following. Subscribe here to dive into these popular publications.

Her company, the Adrian Leeds Group, is a licensed real estate agency offering complete property consultation services primarily for North Americans and other Anglophones wanting to live and/or invest in France. A big part of Adrian’s raison d’être is to bring the North American expatriate community together and to give back to that community, which has given her so much support. One of the ways she does this is, with her long-standing coffee gathering in Paris, Après-Midi, which hosts a different speaker each month, and is free of charge to anyone who wishes to attend. During the period of Covid-19 confinement, the event was held on Zoom.us to enable people from all over the world to attend, and not a single occasion was missed even during these trying times.

What Adrian is most well-known for is her ongoing relationship with HGTV. Since 2006, she has appeared as a property consultant on House Hunters International, boasting more appearances than any other agent in the show’s history. As one of the most popular agents on the show, viewers get to know her tell-it-like-it-is personality while she combs the romantic streets of Paris or sunny paths in Nice or the French countryside searching for the ideal home for the popular show’s would-be homeowners.
