Learn Everyday French—With Confidence and Real Conversation

To meet the needs of Anglophone expats eager to learn practical, everyday French in an engaging and supportive environment, we are proud to promote two dynamic programs: Parler Power and Bon Appétit avec Katie, both led by Katie Friedland, ALG Search Consultant, certified French teacher (Massachusetts), and naturalized American-French citizen.
Parler Power: Speak French, For Real (and Have Fun Doing It)
Parler Power is a small-group, in-person French conversation program where learning is lively, social, and genuinely enjoyable. You’ll build confidence in everyday French while learning alongside fellow members of the Nice expat community in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
This is a safe space to try, repeat, make mistakes, and laugh because that’s how real language learning happens.
HOW IT WORKS
Each week focuses on a short, practical dialogue drawn from real-life situations—making plans, handling phone calls, navigating daily interactions so you can practice French that’s immediately useful.
Participants who RSVP “yes” receive the Dialogue of the Week in advance. After attending the Thursday session, they also receive:
- An audio recording of the dialogue
- A grammar lesson built directly from that dialogue
These resources make it easy to review, reinforce, and keep your momentum going between sessions
Katie’s Proven (and Fun!) Learning Method
- Circling: Repetition, playful questioning, and clarification help you work toward mastery without pressure.
- Three-Prong Learning:
- Auditory / Verbal: Listen, speak, and interact in real time.
- Visual: Read aloud to connect spelling and pronunciation.
- Kinesthetic: Use gestures and simple drawings to anchor meaning.

Thursday Mornings (Small Groups, max 12):
- Group 1: 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.

All levels are welcome.
Membership details:
A 10-session Parler Power card: 100€

Bon Appétit avec Katie! 🍽️
Real French. Real Conversation. Real Connection.
Bon Appétit avec Katie brings the same fun, supportive, confidence-building spirit of Parler Power to the lunch table. Set in cafés and bistros around Nice, this immersion-style French lunch is a relaxed, social experience focused on real conversation.
This is a safe space to speak, experiment, repeat, and enjoy the process—all while sharing a meal and great company.
During lunch, natural conversation is recorded in short, five-minute voice memos. Afterward, participants turn those moments into powerful learning tools using the free app TurboScribe to create transcripts, translations, and custom grammar lessons (with ChatGPT prompts) based on the authentic French spoken at the table.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- In-person French immersion over lunch.
- A welcoming, judgment-free atmosphere.
- Open to individuals, couples, or pairs of friends.
- All levels welcome.
- Plenty of repetition, laughter, and real conversation.
This is not a working lunch. It's a fun, social, and immersive way to build confidence and actually enjoy speaking French.

- Katie’s lunch on the bill (up to 20€)
