Join Founder and Host Ella Dyer upstairs at Nova (formerly Le Carré d’Or) in Nice to meet a group of local authors, and to discover their books and their stories. They will talk about their recent works, read a bit from them, and answer your questions. You will have an opportunity to purchase their books and get signed copies!
Emcee of the event is Lisa Anselmo, Author, speaker, coach, and branding expert who will also share her own experiences.
Authors may have their books for purchasing and signing, but to be sure, you may want to pre-order your copy and bring it with you for your own personal signed copy!
Participation is free (but we ask that you purchase at least one drink to show the host venue how much we appreciate their hospitality). Don’t miss this special event in Nice!

Ella Dyer, Author, Founder and Host
Over the past 45 years, Ella’s varied career path has taken her from working at the Playboy Mansion to earning an MBA from The International University of Monaco.
Author of Nice in Nice, she is fond of saying “A lifetime in Nice is never enough!”
Ella and Jody, her husband of 35 + years, found their flat in Nice before the introduction of the Euro. While living full-time on the Riviera, Ella focuses on helping others who want to learn about and live on la Côte d’Azur.
Founder of Meet the Authors in 2014, this annual event presents both local and international writers with a connection to France and the Côte d’Azur.

Lisa Anselmo, Author & Emcee
Lisa Anselmo lives in Paris and is an author, writing coach, and branding expert. She has spent most of her professional career in magazine publishing in New York City, working on such iconic brands as Allure, InStyle, and People. She started traveling to Paris regularly to cover fashion trade shows but eventually built another life across the ocean. After losing her mother to breast cancer, she bought an apartment in Paris’s Right Bank. Her experiences inspired the memoir My (Part-Time) Paris Life: How Runnng Away Brought Me Home, a candid narrative of a woman searching for hope and healing in the city she loves.
Lisa has been featured in New York magazine, Travel + Leisure, The Today Show, CNN, BBC, and The New York Times, among others.

Augustine Blaisdell
Augustine Blaisdell is the author of Women À La Mode: A Memoir of Writing a Book about Feminists in Paris. Her work has been published by StoryQuarterly, Catapult, KGB Bar Literary Magazine, The Intentional Muse and supported by the Bread Loaf Writers Conference. She received her MFA from Columbia University and is the Founder of The Writers Retreat in the Côte d’Azur. She teaches creative writing independently and writes the popular Substack newsletter, The Philogynists. She lives in the South of France with her husband and two children.
Mike Colquhoun
Mike Colquhoun est écrivain, cinéaste et peinture. Il vit et travaille à Nice, sur la Côte d’Azur. Il a publié plusieurs romans en anglais: Paul (2023), Continuum (2018) et Returning (2017).
Il est crédité plusieurs films dont Berlin Cake (long métrage 2022), Julia (court métrage 2018), The Heart (animation 2017), et Arlene (animation 2016). Il a écrit une pièce de théâtre, Jennifer (2018), qui a été jouée à Nice, Londres et Dublin.

Mark Greenside
I Am Finally, Finally French: My Accidental Life in Brittany
Mark Greenside has been a civil rights activist, Vietnam War protestor, anti-draft counselor, VISTA Volunteer, union leader, and college professor. His stories have appeared in the Sun, the Literary Review, Cimarron Review, the Nebraska Review, Beloit Fiction Journal, the New Laurel Review, Crosscurrents, Five Fingers Review, and the Long Story, as well as other journals and magazines, and he is the author of a short story collection, I Saw a Man Hit His Wife; a novella, The Night at the end of the Tunnel, or Isaiah Can You See?; and two previous memoirs about life in France, I’ll Never Be French (no matter what I do), and (not quite) Mastering the Art of French Living. He resides in Alameda, CA, and Brittany, France.
Rosa Jackson
After working as a food writer at a daily newspaper in Canada, Rosa Jackson moved to Paris where she became an interpreter at the world-famous Cordon Bleu cookery school. She went on to become editor of the Time Out Paris Eating and Drinking guide and founded the food tour company Edible Paris. In 2003 she moved to Nice and created the cooking school Les Petits Farcis (www.petitsfarcis.com), which she still runs today. Her cookbook Niçoise, featuring French Mediterranean recipes she has perfected over the past two decades, was published in April 2024.
Patricia Sands
Patricia Sands lives two hours north of Toronto, but her heart’s other home is the South of France. An avid traveler, she spends part of each year on the Cote d’Azur and once a year co-leads a 16-women, 12-day tour of the Riviera and Provence. Her award-winning 2010 debut novel, The Bridge Club, is a book club favorite. The Promise of Provence, which launched her three-part Love in Provence series was a finalist for a 2013 USA Best Book Award and a 2014 National Indie Excellence Award, an Amazon Hot New Release in April 2013, and a 2015 nominee for a #RBRT Golden Rose award in the category of romance.
Drawing Lessons, Sands’ fifth novel, also set in the south of France, was released by Lake Union Publishing in 2017 and was a Finalist in the Somerset Literary Book Award 2019. The Villa des Violettes miniseries released in 2019/20 and Book 4 is anticipated in 2023.
Her new novel, The Secrets We Hide, is scheduled for release May/June 2022. She is also busy writing a novella, Lost At Sea, to be included in the nine-book Sail Away series that will publish in January 2023.
