Dear Parler Paris Reader, Parler Nice and French Property Insider Reader,

Life in Paris began on the Ile de la Cité and your new life in Paris can begin there, too.

The Ile de la Cité is one of the two remaining natural islands in the Seine within the city of Paris where you will find the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris (built beginning in 1163), Louis IX’s Sainte-Chapelle (1245) and the Conciergerie, where Marie Antoinette awaited execution in 1793…among other historic sites. It’s also “Kilometer Zero” — the starting point from which all distances in France are measured. It just doesn’t get more central than this, nor more important from a Paris perspective.

Living on the island is a dream…for a visitor as well as for a resident. From such a central location, one can walk almost everywhere within the city center. There are several Métro lines stops — Cité, Hôtel de Ville and Saint-Michel, many buses crossing the island and within minutes you can be by foot in Le Marais or on the Left Bank.

Living on the island can feel like being at the center of the universe, yet it’s intimate and village-like with the residents of the island having a special sense of camaraderie. You could be one of those residents…for four weeks a year (or more) and a very small investment in a share in “Le Notre Dame.”

Le Notre Dame is one of the few remaining Fractional Ownership properties in Paris. Do not confuse this with “Time Share.” A hybrid of direct ownership and time sharing, Fractional Ownership combines the best elements of both. While timeshares normally involve many shares in a large complex with “resort” amenities and costs built specifically for that purpose, fractional ownership is joint ownership by only a few individuals in a single property whose value can easily be determined on the open market.

There are only four shares (of four weeks each) left of this beautiful spacious studio apartment on the Ile de la Cité with a view on Notre Dame itself. Located on rue Chanoinesse (once known as “Lutèce”), it’s in one of the oldest buildings on the island, classified as a historical monument. The tiny medieval street is tranquil, but filled occasionally with the melodious sound of the Notre Dame bells. Should you wish to block it all out, the windows of Le Notre Dame are double-glazed and because the apartment is air-conditioned, you can be comfortable year-round in total silence for ultimate peace and calm.

The apartment is located on the second floor (with a modern elevator) and has been fully restored exposing the original wood beams that have been there for centuries. The furnishings are simple, comfortable and in keeping with the ambiance of this historic location.

There is a queen-size bed, a fully-equipped kitchen (oven, stove top, microwave, refrigerator, coffee-maker, toaster), a dining table with direct views on Notre Dame, a modern bathroom with a full shower and a combination washing machine/dryer. You can unpack and make yourself at home by filling the apartment’s spacious full length wardrobe. Amenities include cable TV, high speed Internet access (WiFi), free telephone service land line and cell phones in many countries (United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, most European countries, and South America), and a CD stereo system. You will be for wont of nothing!

The apartment is even equipped with it’s own “cave” (cellar) and each owner has the right to leave one carry on suitcase with their personal effects to reduce their luggage when they travel to stay in Le Notre Dame each time.

With only four shares left, now is the time to consider having one of them for yourself before they are gone. Each share is four weeks, and it can be taken as four consecutive weeks, or two sets of two weeks. Two-week blocks of shares are priced as low as 24,900€, making four weeks a year usage in your own property next to Notre Dame as inexpensive as 49,800€. Shares available begin as early as September 10th of this year as per the following chart:

Arrival    Departure    Weeks

2014

10/09        24/09         37-38
17/12        31/12         51-52

16/09        30/09         37-38
23/12        06/01         51-52

In addition to the purchase price, the annual association dues for each four- week share is 1,300€ which includes everything (maintenance, charges, co-op fees, taxes, accounting and legal work, cleaning, utilities, etc.) As a new buyer, naturally you will only pay your pro-rata portion for the remainder of the year.

With the current rate of exchange as favorable as it is, don’t wait so long you lose your opportunity — not only to have your own “pied-à-terre” in Paris on the Ile de la Cité, but to still have time to come visit this year!

For more information and to secure your share, visit Le Notre Dame or email: [email protected]

A la prochaine…
