Meet us in Nice, Provence and the Occitanie This September!

We’re doing it again this year…three days in Nice for the Living and Investing in France Conference 2022 (September 16-18) and Tour to Provence and the Occitanie (September 20-25)!

Organizers: The Adrian Leeds Group and Opportunity Travel

The conference and tour were such big successes for the attendees that many asked us to do it again…and so we are, and some of them will return for “Round 2.”

Part I is the conference: Get to know Nice and the French Riviera! September 16-18, 2022, open to a maximum of 70 participants.

Part II is the tour to Provence and the Occitanie: Get to know the South of France! September 20-25 with a maximum number of 30 participants.

If you don’t already know Nice and the French Riviera, it’s true, Nice is nice!

Nice is the hub of the entire Riviera. It’s a real city with a lot of life, a real heart, and great inner-city transportation so you don’t need a car to enjoy it fully. It’s one of three cities in France with an international airport, making it easy to hop on and off a plane to visit the rest of the world. The gorgeous aqua blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea are on its doorstep and the weather is mild (in the 80°F range in the summers) and very sunny (they claim 300 days a year of sunshine). Property is half the price of Paris and the lifestyle much more relaxed.

All this makes it both a great place to live and a great place to visit.

Nice has a very international community that makes you feel very much at home among the locals. Not knowing the language is less of an issue, thanks to all the non-French speakers and there is no shortage of activities for internationals in Nice and things to do in the nearby Côte d’Azur communities…such as Cannes, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Monaco, Menton, etc.

During our time together in Nice, you’ll get to meet lots of folks who have the same desire to enrich their lives with France as you do. We’ll introduce you to our “boots on the ground” contacts and make sure you get the answers to all your questions. You’ll come away with new friends, a host of important resources, and become well informed about living, investing, or retiring in France. And much, much more!

The official schedule is not yet carved in stone, but here’s an advance look at what we have in store for you during Part I:

Day 1: Friday, September 16, 2021, full Conference Day with lunch and cocktails!

Day 2: Saturday, September 17, 2022, Open House Tour in the morning of properties for sale in Nice, and an afternoon Q&A so you can ask us anything!

Day 4: Monday, September 19, 2022, A Day Off—do whatever you like and if you’re going on the tour the next day…to get ready!

This first part of the program—the Conference, the Open House, Q&A and the tour of the Riviera, can be registered for without having to take the Tour to Provence and the Occitanie. These three days with us in Nice are limited to 70 participants. There will be a special discount when you register for the Conference Package, which includes both the three-day conference and the five-day tour. There are also Early Bird Special Rates. You’ll be hearing more about this very soon!

Part II—A Tour to Provence and Occitanie—September 20 – 25, 2022
30 participants maximum

Join us as we explore Provence and the Occitanie over five days. We’ll be traveling by luxury coach together, staying in the region’s most charming hotels, and enjoying the fresh and healthy cuisine of the South of France over five glorious days when the weather is just starting to turn a bit cool. It’s the perfect time of year to discover this beautiful region of France. This is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the French countryside in person with me by your side, accompanied by professional tour guides who will educate and entertain us.

The hilltop village of Luberon

Our schedule is still being fine-tuned but here’s the plan as we know it at this time:

Tuesday, September 20th we head to Avignon from Nice after breakfast where we will stay for two nights in one of the city’s most charming hotels. Along the way, we’ll make a special stop at Château La Coste, a contemporary art center, winery and restaurants to visit the sculpture gardens and enjoy a Provençal lunch.

While in Avignon, we’ll have the distinctive pleasure of visiting the Palais des Papes (Popes’ Palace), listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco and one of the 10 most visited monuments in France. You’ll have the day to get to know Avignon, wander its ancient streets and discover its theatrical ambiance (Avignon Theater Festival is one of the biggest Performing Arts Festivals in the world).

The next day, Wednesday, September 21st, we will go straight to a true masterpiece of ancient architecture—the aqueduct of Pont du Gard—one of the most beautiful Roman constructions in the region and where you are sure to be awed by its beauty.

From there we will head to the charming village of Uzès on Market Day…a beehive of activity and a great place to score all sorts of Provençal goodies to take home to your friends and family. Uzès was the stop after two hours at Chateaux La Coste along the way to visit the gardens and enjoy lunch. Uzès was first duchy of France, full of charm and rich in ancient heritage. A blend of Medieval, Renaissance and classical styles, the duchy of Uzès—or ducal castle—is one of the flagship sites of the city. Here in Uzès we will enjoy lunch together and have an opportunity to visit a few properties for sale! (You may never want to leave!)

On Thursday, September 22nd, our coach will take us to Baux de Provence and the extraordinary “Carrières de Lumières” exhibition—a multimedia show within a limestone quarry which is unique in the world. We spectators will be totally immersed in artistic images projected onto all the surfaces of the stone. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images. You won’t want to miss this.

Lunch that day will be in another beautiful village—Saint-Remy-de-Provence, the capital of the Alpilles. Our next important stop, Aix-en-Provence, is where we will stay two nights in a sweet hotel in the very heart of town just steps from the famous and beautiful Cours Mirabeau. This is your chance to really get to know the university town that is the birthplace of the painter Paul Cézanne and is one of the region’s most elegant communes.

Friday is market day in Lourmarin, a village in the nearby Luberon, and that’s where we’ll be first thing in the morning. Listed as “one of the most beautiful villages in France,” Lourmarin is nestled in the middle of vineyards, olive groves and almond trees. A very animated village in the summer due to its numerous café terraces, restaurants and boutiques, it boasts of a beautiful château, located in fabulous surroundings facing the village, one of the very first Renaissance castles built in Provence.

Just 15 minute drive away, we’ll be invited to a journey discovering the wines of Provence, in the Domaine de Fontenille in the town of Lauris, followed by a wonderful and sumptuous three-course lunch at Cuisine d’Amélie on the grounds.

Once fully sated (!), we will depart for Roussillon—the land of ochres. When the sea dried up several million years ago, pouring rain slowly transformed the accumulated layers of limestone into ochre-bearing sands. Its natural components and its vibrant and long-lasting colors, make ochre a wonderful material to use in home decoration, but also in painting and ceramics. This town, of all those in the Luberon, is not to be missed…and we won’t!

Saturday is open and set for property visits in Aix-en-Provence! You will have the opportunity to walk from one to other and see for yourself real estate opportunities near the hotel with Jennifer Parrette and Ella Dyer, from the Adrian Leeds Group team. This is also a perfect time to wander around Aix-en-Provence on your own and get to know it better.

We will not leave Aix-en-Provence without our Gala Farewell Dinner at the a very special location.

The next morning, Sunday, September 25th, we’ll enjoy breakfast and then head back to Nice by coach.

There’s much more in store for you, too…stops along the way and special tours—which are in the works and not yet confirmed enough for me to divulge them! But, trust me—you will not be disappointed!

Now’s the time to get your name on the list. We already have many commitments and both the conference and tour are sure to sell out soon.

Plus, since March 14th, the rules in France surrounding Covid-19 ended the wearing of masks indoors (except in transport, health establishments and care facilities), ended the vaccination pass (except in transport, health establishments and care facilities) and the “vaccination pass” has been suspended until further notice in all places where it was required (leisure and cultural venues, commercial catering activities, trade fairs and exhibitions, etc.). For travelers who have been vaccinated according to European regulations, no more tests will be required upon departure, but proof of a complete vaccination regimen will once again be sufficient to arrive in France, regardless of the country of origin, as was the case before the spread of the Omicron variant.
