Après-Midi Recap
Adrian Leeds & HHI, Nice – January 2026
At Après-Midi in Nice, facing about 60 of our clients and friends upstairs at Restaurant Oscar, after we played three past House Hunters International shows that had been filmed in Nice and the vicinity, I told the audience how rewarding it is to do what we do.
We have a team in Paris and a team in Nice, all devoted to helping Americans make the transition to a richer and less expensive life in France with all the benefits the country has to offer. Over lunch prior to the event, our team, like the Musketeers, vowed to follow our mission, and that is to put the client’s interest above all else. Money was never to be a factor in making important decisions. We’ll leave that for capitalist America.
Billy Linville had been scheduled to speak on “The Future of American Politics and What it Means for Expats Living in France,” when his back went out making it impossible for him to make his presentation. I stepped in at the last moment with three of our shows we could play for our audience, who can’t see them from France without a VPN set to the U.S.:
- “Becoming a Buyer in Nice, France”—Season 55, Episode 1
- “High Above the Cote d’Azur”—Season 97, Episode 11
- “Teen Tennis Academy in France”—Season 197, Episode 13
They are fun and funny to watch, especially for an audience who has already crossed the cultural divide, who has jumped similar hoops to find their new homes and can fully relate to the “contributors” who were filmed. In between the shows, I opened the floor to questions and made some comments. Unfortunately, there’s no YouTube video for you to watch this time around, as we are not allowed to broadcast the shows that are the property of the HGTV network.
