Katie is a friendly bilingual dual national (American-French) with over a decade of cross-cultural experience working in France.
Upon completing her Master’s Degree in Historical Musicology from Tufts University and studying a rare Bizet opera, Katie decided to go on a one-year adventure to teach English in France. Her experience was so great that she did not end up leaving! During her sixth year in France, Katie naturalized and became the first member of her family to hold dual-citizenship. She has lived in five regions throughout the country, in Bourgogne, Grand-Est, Occitanie, Ile de France, and most recently moved to the Côte d’Azur, settling in Nice in 2022. Both the naturalization process and the settling and resettling in new homes throughout the years has given Katie clear insight on the nuances of French bureaucracy.
While in France, Katie has primarily worked in the fields of Tourism and Education. She is an officially licensed Tour Guide, une guide conférencière, has years of experience coaching adult language learners in France and also has her French teaching certification from the state of Massachusetts. Katie is passionate about welcoming New Arrivals to France, by supporting them in their bureaucratic needs and acclimating them to both the French culture and language alike.
