As my friend who sent me the links put it, “You know you have made it sooo HUGE in Trumpland when you make it to a story in BREITBART!” As it turns out, Breitbart picked up a story first published in the Hollywood Reporter as a result of an interview I did for them. Here they both are for your enjoyment:

Luxury Home Buyers Purchasing 2nd Homes on the French Riviera: ‘Trump Effect’
“My phone started ringing the morning after he became president, and it hasn’t stopped since,” said Adrian Leeds, a Paris-based real estate expert…

How Trump Is Driving More Luxe Home Sales Along the French Riviera

And yes, it’s true. I would never vote with my pocketbook, because I’m just not that kind-a-gal, but I call it “Trump Fallout.” We’ve never been so busy since the moment the election results were in. Just about every American coming our way gives the same basic reason for wanting a home in France: “Donald Trump.” Their only concern has been Madame Le Pen, but now that she’s been defeated and E.M. (Emmanuel Macron) is our new French leader, they can rest easier.
Word is out that Macron’s win is going to boost the French property market as he has promised to cut taxes for property owners, is pro EU, pro business and pledged to bring stability to the housing market. While it’s unsure if he’ll reduce the capital gains taxes, his promises include exemption of the annual “taxe d’habitation” for a majority of homes, reducing wealth tax and simplifying rental contracts.
In addition, having an asset in France is a good hedge against your bets: for financial reasons, to have a euro asset just in case your dollar investments go haywire, or if for some reason the US government doesn’t like the color of your hair or the laptop you carry on their planes.
