Nine years ago, when I was looking for something to do and a way to earn a few bucks, I started writing a restaurant guide of my favorite good-value finds in Pari. There were 50 restaurants and brief descriptions. Along with a Web developer I had met, we tested selling it electronically on the Internet — when the Net was in its infancy and there was nothing else like it on the bookshelf in English.

It sold well from the day we launched it. I received dozens of letters from happy guide customers and it launched a career in writing, not to mention eating!

The Insider Paris Guide for Good Value Restaurants became the foundation for all the other Insider Paris Guides, Parler Paris and French Property Insider, too!
