We all discovered the power of our creative voices as James Navé, poet and co-founder of The Imaginative Storm Writing Project, led a lively Imaginative Storm Writing Salon at Après-Midi.

Centered on the theme of “Imaginative Intelligence,” the salon offered us all a unique opportunity to explore the imaginative possibilities of “Writing What You Don’t Know,” a method designed to unlock insights, weave connections, and stir the untapped wells of your imagination.

James Navé invited us to experience one of the foundational exercises from Write What You Don’t Know (co-authored by Imaginative Storm founders Allegra Huston and James Navé). It mirrored their popular Saturday Prompt of the Week Zoom gathering, a dynamic blend of spontaneity and community that encourages playful exploration of language and thought. In just 10 minutes, our imaginations led us to new writing insights, fueled by our imaginative intelligence and grounded in surprising discoveries.

It was amazing! The audience became very quiet while writing, then very animated with enthusiasm as they discovered their own voices. They found new confidence and unexpected insights. The participants have described it as “an experiment in humanity,” “pure sustenance for the soul,” and “a field where joy and abundance happen.”
