Après-Midi Recap
Oliver Gee, Paris – June 2026
I met Oliver Gee on a corner in the Marais almost 10 years ago. He was just starting out as a
podcaster and doing anything and everything to make a go of it. That was just the beginning.
Besides getting married and raising two children, Oliver is the creator of The Earful
Tower, an an award-winning channel about Paris and France. It is best known as an audio
podcast, often featuring special guests who make the City of Light shine. However, The Earful
Tower has come to include videos, books, walking tours and more.
At Après-Midi, with a slide show, he talked about his top five Paris secrets, things that very few
people know about. There are tons and tons of such secrets, so he could have gone on all day,
but these were his favorites.
Oliver moved to Paris as a full-time journalist in 2015, but switched to podcasting in December
2016. He told his full Paris story in 2020 in his first book, Paris On Air, a self-published memoir
that went wild on Kickstarter and had top reviews from readers all over the world.
His wife, Lina, is a fashion designer and illustrator from Sweden, who’s also known online as
Parisian Postcards. She has been married to Oliver since 2018, and together they co-own The
Earful Tower and occasionally co-host the podcast episodes.
He also talked a bit about his five children’s books, co-produced with Lena, one of which will be
out officially June 10th: The Animal Games in Paris, Grace the Giraffe, Kylie the Crocodile, Roger
the Liger, and now Sophie in Paris, all of which you can find in The Earful Tower’s online shop.
The books are also available in all the English bookshops in Paris…even the Louvre Museum’s
gift shop.
