LIF Nice – Presenters Information
Volume XI, Issue 34
We are excited that you will be joining us as a speaker for the Living and Investing in France Conference at the Hotel Ellington in Nice, France September 27 to September 29, 2013. We want to provide you with as much information as possible to make your part in the conference a success and let you know what we need from you to make it a success for our attendees.
Please review the schedule for presentations Friday at https://adrianleeds.com/events/conferences/living-and-investing-in-france-nice-2013/20-french-property/french-property-conference/513-lif-nice-day-1. If you have any conflicts with this schedule, please let us know as soon as possible!
You are welcome to be with us for the full day—including lunch—and especially want you there for the Q&A panel at the end of the day…just before the cocktail reception.
While we try to keep the presentations on time, they do sometimes go a bit longer or shorter than scheduled. We ask that you please be in the conference room at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
Important: We need to know your choice for lunch on Friday. You have a choice of the Braised Chicken or the Vegetable Lasagna (each with different appetizers and desserts. See https://adrianleeds.com/events/conferences/living-and-investing-in-france-nice-2013/20-french-property/french-property-conference/513-lif-nice-day-1 for the full menus.) Please email us back with your preferred lunch choices as soon as possible and no later than September 22nd.
Conference attendees love to have things to take away with them. If you have any sort of company treats or gifts, please bring them along – we have a special conference keep-sake bag in which to put them. More importantly, we’d like you to have a PowerPoint presentation to visually augment your talk. It is also helpful if you provide a printout of your presentation that can be handed out to the attendees. A version that provides them space for taking notes is especially helpful. We expect to have approximately 30 attendees. Please make sure you have enough handouts with you – and extras for the other presenters and staff – 40 should be fine.
We will have a computer and projector on hand for your presentation. Please email us a copy of your PowerPoint presentation to [email protected] so we can have it set up on that computer. If your PowerPoint is too large to email, it can be sent by such sites as “Dropbox.com” or other file transfer programs or sites. Also, please have a backup, preferably on a jump drive, just in case.
We would appreciate it if you would send us your cell phone information in advance of the conference should we need to contact you.
We are including the following information and hope you will find it helpful:

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
To help you make your arrival/departure from the conference easier, we’ve provided you with a bit of valuable information:
FLIGHT
For information on the Nice airport please visit http://en.nice.aeroport.fr/.
GROUND TRANSFERS
By Taxis
About 15 minutes in off peak hours, but allow a good 30 minutes when traffic’s heavy. It should cost around 35€. Use the following link for more information and terminal locations: http://en.nice.aeroport.fr/Passengers/DIRECTIONS-PARKING/Getting-to-the-airport/Taxis
By Bus from the Airport
Airport Express Buses: Take the 98 bus to the J.C. Bermond stop if you are going directly to the Hotel Ellington. It is a four block walk from the bus stop up rue Alberti to reach boulevard Dubuchage. If your destination is different, see http://en.nice.aeroport.fr/Passengers/DIRECTIONS-PARKING/Gestion-Bus-et-Navettes/Bus-lines/98-Nice-Riquier-via-City-Center-Port for the locations of all the stops.
Bus 98 costs just €6 and is accessible from both terminals T1 and T2. They run about every 20 minutes during the day from 6 a.m. to midnight. At the airport, buy your ticket at the ticket booth just outside of the baggage areas. Otherwise, pay the driver upon boarding and the ticket acts as a “Pass de Jour” for unlimited travel on local buses and the trams that day. The airport website, http://www.nice.aeroport.fr/acces_stationnement_en/bus/default.asp, has information and timetables for ground transportation.
Regular Buses: If you arrive at Terminal 2, take the free bus to Terminal 1. At Terminal 1, take either the Line #23 or #52 to the SNCF train station. Then take the tram in the direction of Pont Michel and get off at the Jean Médécin stop. Take a turn to your left until you reach the commercial centre Nice Etoile, then continue straight for about 400 meters and the Hotel Ellington will be on your right. Price of the ticket: 1.50€ per person. Airport bus information is available at http://en.nice.aeroport.fr/Passengers/DIRECTIONS-PARKING/Getting-to-the-airport/Buses-Shuttles/Search-for-a-service/(ville)/4294#result-tarif.
On Foot from the Gare Nice Ville
If you want to want to walk to the hotel from the SNCF station: Take the Avenue Thiers on your left as you leave the station for 200 meters, then take the avenue Jean Médecin for about 500 meters until you arrive at the boulevard Dubouchage. Then turn left. The hotel is 250 meters further on your right. This walk should take about 10 to 13 minutes but will show you some of the most lively and famous avenues of Nice.
You may also board the tram at Gare Thiers in the direction of Hôpital Pasteur for one stop to arrive at stop “Jean Médecin” just at boulevard Dubuchage. The cost of the tram is €1.50.
Note: Taking taxis to get around Nice itself is expensive. Most likely you’ll be able to walk where you wish to go or you can take advantage of the great buses or the tram system.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Dress during the conference is casual but be aware that with temperamental climate control it could get hot or cool in the meeting room. We suggest you bring along a sweater or dress in layers.
