Meet the Dream Team

I arrived in Nice on Saturday night just after curfew (11 p.m.). The streets weren’t quiet like I thought they would be—lots of (mostly young) people were out completing their Saturday night revelry before heading home. It was warm with cool breezes, the sky was bright, the tramway was dinging its bell, the street lights were glistening and all was right with the world. I rolled my bag home and thought, “yep, Nice is really nice.”

After a Sunday shopping excursion on the Cours Saleya and an afternoon at the beach, I dined with my Niçois team of consultants Sunday evening on the terrace of Le Grande Café de France that sits just below an apartment I was to sign the pre-sale agreement on this week. Ella Dyer, Jennifer Parrette and Patty Sadauskas are three very amazing women who have devoted their professional lives to our cause—to help our clients realize their dreams to live (at least part-time) in France, and in particular, on the Côte d’Azur.

Patty is my personal assistant who moved from Paris to Nîmes and then from Nîmes to Nice. She scored big time when she found a spacious two-bedroom apartment with three balconies and 270° views of the city. We joke that she may never leave the apartment. Daily, she sends me photos of her beautiful skyline that changes every minute with the weather. She has fallen madly in love with Nice and constantly remarks that life is so easy here. And it is.

Ella is the author of Nice in Nice: The day-to-day musings of a middle-aged housewife living ‘part-time’ in the South of France. She jokes that she “stalked” me, but the truth is that I recruited her because I knew immediately upon meeting her that she’d make a great consultant, and she is. As the ultimate networker, she is at the center of the American community in Nice. Everyone knows her and loves her (along with her Chihuahua puppy, Simone, who is always in her arms).

Jennifer is someone we discovered via Patty who went to high school with her husband. She’s been a real estate professional in the Southwest of France for several years before moving to Cannes and that’s when we got really lucky. Her level of expertise is commendable as well as her ability to treat her clients like family.

These three accomplished, intelligent and personable women, along with a support staff consisting of real estate agents, designers, contractors, Notaires, etc. make up what I could call a “dream team.” It took years for me to find the right people to work with me in Nice, but the journey was well worth it. I’d put them up against any other team in the area…and I’ll bet they will outshine them.

Nice is the hub of the entire Riviera. It’s a cosmopolitan city with a lot of life, a real heart, and superb inner-city transportation so you don’t need a car to enjoy it fully. The Mediterranean Sea is on its doorstep, the weather is mild and very sunny (they claim 300 days a year of sunshine!). It has one of the few international airports in France and is close to the Italian border. Property is half the price of Paris’ real estate and the beach lifestyle is much more relaxed than the hubbub of Paris. Quite frankly, it’s easy to understand why Nice is both a great place to visit and to live full time.

Nice has a welcoming international community that makes you feel very much at home among the locals. You’ll find a fascinating mix of Italians, British, Irish, Russians, Scandinavians, as well as a large and active American community. Not knowing the language is less of an issue, thanks to the many non-French speaking residents and visitors. You will quickly discover that there is no shortage of activities for internationals in Nice and the nearby Côte d’Azur communities…such as Villefranche-sur-Mer, Monaco, Menton, Antibes and Cannes.

Wednesday afternoon is when you’ll really have fun looking at properties all over Nice! We will venture out to see multiple properties during a special Open House. This is your chance to visit properties on the market for sale, some under renovation, others completed and lived-in…all within central Nice so you can casually walk from one to the other.

And then, when you’re ready to relax, we’ll have fun with the entire gang at our farewell cocktail reception!

You can register for these first three days of the program—the Conference, the Tour of the Riviera and the Open House—without registering for the Tour to Provence and the Occitanie (sorry, it’s already sold out!). These three days with us in Nice are limited to 100 participants. The conference will take place at the Hôtel Splendid where we have negotiated a discounted group room rate. (You are not required to book your stay there, however.)

Rates per night are €140 euros for a single room and €155 euros for double occupancy. We will include a booking link in your confirmation email once registered for the conference if you wish to stay with us at the hotel.

Prices are shown in euros, but on July 27, 2021 we will convert the rate to US Dollars for the final payment.

To secure your seat and registration, we require a $300 deposit per traveler at the time of booking. The balance is due July 27, 2021. On July 26, we will email you a final invoice in USD for the balance due (less any applicable discount) based on the rate of exchange as published by XE – Foreign Exchange Charges Calculator.
